Accessibility and the Vision Pro

If one reads a few Apple blogs, it seems like all the “cool kids” have their $3500+ setup for the Vision Pro. But I wondered what the experience would be like for someone who has very little vision.

Shelly Brisbin, a noted accessibility specialist who has forgotten more about Apple and accessibility than I’ve ever learned, has a great piece on the Six Colors website about what it’s like for someone who relies upon accessible technology. It’s worth a read for what people with little to no vision are able to experience now and what they’d like to experience with the Vision Pro.

Update, February 19: Federico Viticci posted on MacStories about several other users who have tried the Vision Pro, including one user using the Vision Pro with one eye only, another who uses it without hands, as well as a few other links – if you’re interested in this topic, check out his post “Vision Accessibility on Apple Vision Pro.” You’ll also learn a lot more about specific eye conditions such as nystagmus and how Apple both recognizes it as a potential issue, but also how Apple deals with it in the context of the Vision Pro.
